Steel City Avatars is a Pittsburgh-based competitor in the $10 Million ANA Avatar XPRIZE. It was created to bring together the best roboticists, computer scientists, mixed reality technologists, and innovators from Pittsburgh (and beyond) to push the bounds of avatar technology, increase human capabilities, and, ultimately, to win the ANA Avatar XPRIZE. Our team consists of established experts in avatar robotics (John Choi of Choitek, Chris Williams), telerobotics (Chris Quick of RealBotics), mixed reality (Dr. Karen Alexander of XRconnectED), and business (Ryan O’Shea of Future Grind), with more expected soon.
